In a new urban mobility initiative, the installation of approximately 50 kilometers of bike lanes along Calzada de Tlalpan is planned, from Estadio Azteca to the Historic Center of Mexico City. This project is part of efforts to promote alternative and sustainable means of transportation in the capital.
The head of government, Clara Brugada, also announced plans to expand the Ecobici network to the 16 boroughs of CDMX as part of a decentralization process of this service, which was previously concentrated mainly in four areas. In this sense, the aim is to make the use of bicycles as a means of transportation in the city more accessible and equitable.
In the context of a report on the first 100 days of her administration, Brugada highlighted the increase in female participation in politics, making special mention of Claudia Sheinbaum's presidency, which has marked a historic milestone in the country. She also emphasized the importance of working in coordination with the Federal Government to address issues of national interest, such as migration and sovereignty.
From the National Auditorium, the local leader expressed her commitment to the peripheral areas of the capital, such as Iztapalapa and Gustavo A. Madero, areas that have historically faced problems accessing basic services. In this regard, the aim is to reduce inequalities and ensure equitable development throughout the city.
Additionally, the implementation of public hearings such as Martes de Zócalo Ciudadano and the Casa por Casa program was highlighted, which allow citizens to express their concerns and proposals directly to local authorities. This strategy seeks to strengthen citizen participation and improve communication between government and society for the benefit of all.
In the legislative area, it was reported that Mexico City will support the constitutional reforms approved at the federal and local levels, covering topics such as judicial reform, preventive detention, animal welfare, and health protection. These measures aim to strengthen the legal framework and ensure greater protection of citizens' rights.
Finally, regarding mobility, the construction of 300 kilometers of bike lanes throughout Mexico City is planned for the current year, along with the completion of the renovation of some lines of the Metro Collective Transportation System, with the goal of improving the quality and efficiency of public transportation in the capital.
